Collect for the Week:

Most merciful God, who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ delivered and saved the world: grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross we may triumph in the power of your victory; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of your Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer after Communion Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us that what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters we do also for you: give us the will to be the servant of others as you were the servant of all and give up your life and died for us, but are alive and reign, now and for ever.

DIPPING YOUR TOE IN THE WATER

Spending time prayerfully reading the bible is a source of growth in your Christian life and understanding. It can be daunting, all those long names, ancient rituals and unfamiliar ideas. Using Bible reading notes is a great help, they give structure to your reading, no need to be lost in Leviticus; they seek to explain the historical context of scripture and its relavance to contemporary life and biblenotes usually give you a final thought or reflection to accompany you through the day.

The Bible Reading Fellowship was founded in an Anglican parish in Brixton in 1922. Today it remains a respected organisation trusted for its broad scholarship and appeal to a wide range of Christian traditions. A display of BRF materials will be arriving at St. John's soon - there is sure to be something to interest and encourage you.

There is a teaching leaflet about the Eucharist (Communion Service) at the back of the Church. This has been produced in response to some discussion in the PCC and is there to help us in our worship together. Please take one from the leaflet stand on your way out of church. Thank you.

The Parish lounge is open and available for use during the service if very young children need a break from the service. There is a speaker in there so that not only can parents still see the service, but can still be involved if they need to make use of this facility.

Parish Surgery - Please note that Baptism Bookings are now on a Sunday 11.30am - 12noon in the lounge at the back of church. Thank you the Wardens.
